You start with the Phase I Program which introduces you to training at the Academy and shows you the fundamentals of kickboxing.

If you only want to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, then you start with the BJJ Program right away.

Kids start with the Juniors Program depending on their age.

Welcome to our Academy

We have been on a mission for the last 25 years to bring the best martial arts and develop the most effective teaching methods we can. We want to help people from all walks of life accomplish and progress in their goals from fitness to fighting and everything in between.

We have developed classes and teaching methods that allow us to show the martial arts in an easy to understand and fun format, whilst still developing awesome skills and fantastic levels of confidence regardless of your size, age, weight, fitness level or athletic ability.

I began training at AMAG during a difficult time. I was, and still am, struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem and lethargy, which felt like a losing battle at the time. With AMAG, I’m slowly but surely learning the discipline and self-respect that I need in order to better myself, and there’s nothing quite as cathartic as the sense of achievement after a good session of sparring at Muay Thai, prison riot drills at Filipino Martial Arts, practicing sweeps at Brazilian Jiu-jitsu – or really anything that takes me closer to my goals. I was once told that every step I take should be a step forward, and I couldn’t have found a better group of people to help me along with my first few steps and beyond.

In October 2013 I started at AMAG weighing in at a hefty 189kg. I had a lack of confidence, and was very shy. Now, as of January 2016 I have lost 75kg. This without a shadow of a doubt is down to the training and encouragement at AMAG. I feel that without the team mates and instructors I would have given up a long time ago. Not only have I lost weight, I have gained confidence and have came out of my shell more, and feeling like if I want to accomplish something, I can. I have made life long friends and I know with them the rest of my weightloss journey will be a lot easier. I would like to think that AMAG and the people in it has changed me as a person for the better.

I joined AMAG four years ago, I found everyone to be very friendly and helpful. After I completed my phase 1, I tried all the classes but quickly fell in love with Brazilian jiu-jitsu. With the help of some amazing coaches and other fellow members, I am now a Blue belt. It has been a brilliant journey that has not only earned me skill, discipline, motivation and honour that I adopt in everyday life but a supportive family as well. Thank you AMAG osss.

No Need To Be Fit To Start

You DO NOT need to have any experience or be fit to start training with us. We will take you from the very beginning and work with you in the Phase I classes building you up at your own personal pace. You don’t need to train anything you don’t want to and we will be here to answer any questions you might have.
